Gender is crosscutting subjects that influence the work of CRS too. With an objective to integrate gender in CRS work practice, series of training was conducted within CRS staff team to make everyone conceptualize Gender concept in their work for behavior and organizational change.
With the technical support of SHOP plus team one day training was conducted on the 19th February including the department heads. The training decided to implement plans and action to integrate gender in CRS practices.CRS created a Gender Focal Person (GFP) group. There were some major changes after formation of GFP groups within the company . One purposed and approved point was to equipping all restrooms with sanitary napkin disposal systems in CRS head office and area offices. Additionally, the group also suggested proposing gender friendly language to promote gender equality for inclusion in the organization’s human resources manual and workplace.
Besides to further equip the GFPs 3-day Training of Trainers (TOT) was conducted in 25-27th April in 2018. The training equipped the Gender Focal Persons with valuable tools to create a sustainable behavior change. Whilst promoting positive practice within the company and in its work. The training equipped the GFPs with knowledge and skills required to design and conduct practical trainings courses in gender mainstreaming.
