In March 2017, CRS collaborated with Fatima Foundation Nepal (FFN), an NGO based in Banke, working for women empowerment in the Muslim community. In the first phase, FFN conducted 20 sessions of women’s group meetings and reached 371 women with messages on health and hygiene and family (FP) information and products. The major findings of the session were that almost all participants had little or no knowledge on FP and also hesitant to learn more; and early marriage tradition leading to almost zero opportunity to explore such informative sessions.
CRS is planning to conduct small scale of survey in Banke district in Muslim community to know the knowledge, attitude and practice on FP and other MCH methods and messages. Upon identifying the need and gaps, CRS will develop the interventions program accordingly.
