In March 2017, the Iris Group, a SHOPS Plus partner, conducted a gender assessment of CRS and its activities. The assessment considered the external environment in Nepal, CRS’s internal policies, procedures, culture and CRS’s marketing activities. Iris presented the draft assessment report with recommendations and next steps to CRS.
Immediately following the gender assessment, IRIS staff, Mary Beth Hastings and Maneshka Eliatamby conducted a two-day workshop to CRS Kathmandu staff to introduce gender concepts and best practices. The workshop included an introduction to gender terms, self-awareness exercises, case studies, and general discussion.
